Eine Tuk-Tuk-Fahrt durch kleine Nebenstraßen, vorbei an Palmen, bunten Geschäften und dem ganz normalen sri-lankischen Alltag – und schon wartet das Meer auf Dich.
Genau diese Mischung aus Ruhe und Nähe zum Strand lieben unsere Gäste so sehr.

Mangosteen season in Sri Lanka
Die Mangosteen wird in Sri Lanka oft die „Königin der Früchte“ genannt – und ehrlich… wir verstehen warum
Außen sieht sie fast ein bisschen geheimnisvoll aus:
dunkelviolett, dicke Schale, irgendwie wie aus einem Fantasyfilm.
Aber innen? Super weich, süß und unglaublich frisch
Die Saison beginnt ungefähr im Juni und plötzlich tauchen überall kleine Straßenstände voller Mangosteen auf. Natürlich mussten wir sofort anhalten
Und ja…
das Öffnen endet meistens mit klebrigen Fingern und Saft überall.
Aber genau so schmeckt Sri Lanka manchmal:
chaotisch, süß und absolut perfekt

Mangosteen is often called the “Queen of Fruits” in Sri Lanka – and honestly… we totally understand why
From the outside it looks almost mysterious:
dark purple, thick shell and somehow like something from a fantasy movie.
But inside? Soft, sweet and incredibly refreshing
The season starts around June and suddenly little fruit stands full of mangosteen appear everywhere.
Of course we had to stop immediately
And yes…
opening them usually ends with sticky fingers and juice everywhere.
But that’s exactly what Sri Lanka feels like sometimes:
a little chaotic, super sweet and absolutely perfect

Ja… die gibt es hier wirklich einfach so.
Pfauen gehören in Sri Lanka ganz selbstverständlich dazu – im Garten, am Straßenrand… oder direkt vor dem Fenster.
Und ganz ehrlich: So schön sie sind – ihr morgendliches Geschrei kann einen auch mal aus dem Schlaf reißen Wunderschön… und doch ganz schön laut.
Yes… they really just live here like this.
Peacocks are just part of everyday life in Sri Lanka – in the garden, by the road… or right outside your window.
And honestly: as beautiful as they are – their morning calls can definitely wake you up 😅
Beautiful… but very loud.

Manchmal fehlt im Urlaub ja doch eine Kleinigkeit…
Zum Beispiel richtig gutes Brot.
Und ja – das gibt’s hier tatsächlich auch.
Im Baguette French Bakery & Café nahe Dewata Beach bekommst du Baguette, Sauerteig & Croissants – fast wie zu Hause… nur eben mit Palmen drumherum.
Sometimes, even on holiday, you miss the little things…
Like really good bread.
And yes – you can actually find it here.

Nebensaison bei uns heißt nicht „weniger schön“… sondern einfach weniger los.
Mehr Ruhe am Strand, mehr Platz für dich – und oft genau die Momente, die man sonst verpasst.
Sri Lanka wird ein bisschen langsamer… und irgendwie auch ein bisschen echter.
Low season here doesn’t mean “less beautiful”… it just means less crowded.
More space on the beach, more quiet moments – and often the kind of experiences you’d otherwise miss.
Sri Lanka slows down a little… and somehow feels even more real.

Einfach am Straßenrand anhalten – und in 5 Minuten bist du wieder komplett erfrischt!
Die Frucht heißt hier Dehi (Limette) – kleiner, intensiver und genau richtig bei der Hitze.
Sie wird frisch gepresst, mit etwas Zucker gemischt und auf Wunsch mit Soda aufgefüllt.
Simpel, schnell – und genau das, was man hier braucht.
Just stop at one of these roadside stands – and within 5 minutes you’re fully refreshed again!
The fruit is called Dehi (lime) – smaller, more intense and perfect in this heat.
It’s freshly squeezed, mixed with a bit of sugar and sometimes topped with soda.
Simple, quick – and exactly what you need here.

Ganz ehrlich – bei diesen Temperaturen versteht man ihn einfach zu gut.

Manchmal braucht es gar nicht mehr als das…
ein bisschen Sonne, Sand unter den Füßen und ganz viel Peace & Love.
Und ganz ehrlich – in Zeiten wie diesen können wir davon alle ein bisschen mehr gebrauchen.
Sometimes you really don’t need much…
just some sunshine, sand under your feet and a lot of peace & love.
And honestly – in times like these, we could all use a little more of it.

Manchmal braucht man einfach eine kleine Abkühlung…
Nur ein paar Minuten von uns entfernt gibt es einen Ort, der irgendwie alles hat:
Dschungel, Pools, Hängeseile zum Reinspringen (ja, mutig sein lohnt sich) und ganz viel Spaß.
Leisure Land Galle ist so ein typischer „Sri Lanka Tag“ Spot –
ein bisschen wild, nicht perfekt… aber genau das macht ihn besonders.
Ehrlich gesagt: Wir lieben solche Orte.
Nicht geschniegelt, nicht geschniegelt – sondern einfach echt.
