Shiraz first came to Taghazout in 2010. In 2014, her and Mhand met, and soon enough had the same idea of opening a surf hostel. By 2015, Amayour’s doors were open!
Eight beds, a tiny team and everyone doing a bit of everything. Cooking, cleaning, teaching surf… it was full-on from the start.
Honourable mention to Hasan too, who helped open the hostel alongside Shiraz, Mhand and Kiko. And the early living arrangements? A tent on the roof where Hashpoint is now 😂
And thank you the rest of the Amayour fam, too many to name, who built it from the ground up!
Eleven years, two surf camps and a lot of people through our doors later, here’s Shiraz on how it all started. A little chaotic, a lot of work, and enough stubbornness to keep going 🤍
