A big adventure above the Vardar! 🧗‍♀️🌊

Above the Vardar River, our Bulgarian friends built a via ferrata that is definitely not your ordinary walk in the mountains.

It can be challenging, exposed and sometimes a little unpredictable — but perhaps that's exactly what makes it so memorable.

Our friends from Poland decided to take the challenge and give it a try. And judging by their faces, this is one adventure they won't be forgetting anytime soon! 😄

Demir Kapija has plenty of adventures waiting for you.

KLENOV TROPHY FESTIVAL 🧗‍♀️🧗‍♂️

On 26–27 September 2026, Demir Kapija will host the Klenov Climbing Festival, held in memory of Alexander Klenov and his enormous contribution to the development of climbing in this area.

The festival is organized by the Macedonian Sport Climbing Federation MSCF , bringing climbers together for a weekend of climbing, community and celebration in one of North Macedonia’s most beautiful climbing areas.

Today would have been Alexander Klenov's 64th birthday.

We won't list all of his achievements and titles—they are far too many.

Instead, we simply want to say thank you.

Thank you for believing in this place long before many others did. Thank you for seeing the potential of Demir Kapija and dedicating so much of your life to turning it into one of Europe's remarkable climbing destinations.

From 2012 until the very end of his life, Alexander devoted himself to developing this climbing area. Together with friends, climbing clubs, and the national federation, he established hundreds of routes, organized countless competitions and climbing festivals, and inspired people from all over the world to discover these incredible cliffs.

Rock Land Camp was also his idea. It was born from his dream of creating a place where climbers and travelers could feel at home beneath these mountains.

Today, his legacy lives on in every route, every climber who ties into a rope here, every tent set up beneath the canyon walls, and every new visitor who falls in love with Demir Kapija.

The right branch of the canyon now proudly bears his name — Klenov Sector — a lasting tribute to the man who helped shape this place.
