A traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge where heat, steam, song, and ritual come together, the temazcal is one of the most powerful signature experiences at Onze Xpuha.
Built on site as a dedicated space for ceremony, purification, and return, our temazcal offers guests the opportunity to step away from the noise of daily life and enter a ritual that has been used for generations to cleanse the body, steady the mind, and reconnect with something deeper.
Before the ceremony begins, guests gather with intention outside the lodge. Copal is lit and moved through the space, its smoke cleansing the air and marking the transition from ordinary time into ceremonial space. The volcanic stones are heated until they glow with energy, the entrance is prepared, and the group is invited to arrive slowly — with breath, presence, and respect for the ritual ahead.
Guided by , guests are welcomed into the warmth and darkness of the temazcal. As water is poured over the stones, steam rises through the lodge and the experience begins to unfold.
The heat softens the body, helping tension loosen and the nervous system settle.
The steam opens the breath, clearing the senses and bringing awareness back into the present moment.
The chants hold the space, creating rhythm, connection, and a feeling of being guided through the intensity.
The darkness turns attention inward, inviting reflection, surrender, and quiet clarity.
For some, it is a release.
For others, a moment of clarity.
For many, a deep sense of renewal.
At Onze Xpuha, the temazcal is held with care, respect, and intention — offering guests a chance to cleanse, reconnect, and leave behind what no longer needs to be carried.
