Usually found on the sandy bottom, it quietly moves along until startled.
Then it spreads its beautiful wings and swims away.

We used to tell our guests:
“If you don’t see a turtle at Sipadan, we’ll give you your money back!”
That’s how confident we were about seeing turtles on a Sipadan dive.

And with turtles this abundant, it wasn’t exactly a risky promise. 😁 🤿
