It was once again our absolute pleasure to welcome the wonderful learners and staff of St. George’s School, Windhoek to Lagoon Chalets — your home away from home, just as it has been every year.

Our chalets truly come alive whenever you visit, filled with the laughter, energy, and joy of all 70 children! It is always a pleasure having you stay with us and seeing the happiness you bring along.

We would also like to commend the children on their impeccable appearance — always looking smart in their bright red and white — as well as their wonderful manners and respectful nature. They are a true reflection of the school’s values.

**Helping Feed a Child in Need**

For the second consecutive year, Lagoon Chalets proudly participated in the Erongo Marine / Rise Against Hunger event held in celebration of International Nelson Mandela Day.

This meaningful initiative focuses on helping provide nutritious meals to preschool children in need.

Teams were challenged to pack as many meal packages as possible within 68 minutes — symbolising the 68 years Nelson Mandela dedicated to social justice and humanitarian efforts.

Each meal package contains rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and a blend of 18 essential vitamins and minerals, creating life-changing meals for vulnerable children.

We are incredibly proud of our team, who together with two other groups successfully packed an impressive 60 boxes — equating to a remarkable 12,960 meals!

A huge well done to everyone involved, and a sincere thank you to Erongo Marine Enterprises for once again including us in this inspiring and impactful initiative.

Classic Cars Meets Classic Accommodation

Last week we were honoured to host The Friends in Classic Cars, a passionate group travelling across Namibia in their vintage vehicles while spreading goodwill along the way.

Now in its fourth year, this inspiring initiative has grown from a simple road trip among friends into a powerful charity effort.

With nine classic cars and 17 participants, the group set off from Omaruru and has already made a meaningful impact in communities such as Karibib and Usakos and our coastal towns—offering cash donations and thoughtful gift packs to those in need.

Their journey supports a range of causes, including orphanages, nursing homes, clinics, and vulnerable children.

This year alone, they raised approximately N$130,000, contributing to organisations like an orphanage and the Helping Hands School, as well as several other institutions along their route.

We are honoured to play a small part in this incredible initiative.
