🎨🚴‍♀️ The third artist joining our Art (Cycle) Tour 2026 is the talented Melany Groothuis — participating for the very first time at The Florian Hotel! Melany Groothuis

Born in Amsterdam, Melany is a multidisciplinary artist and interior architect, with a deep passion for painting. From an early age, her work explored women from the Golden Age, evolving into portraiture, surrealism, and abstract expression.

Her creative process is intuitive yet intentional, often blending brush, palette knife, and unexpected materials to build layered compositions full of texture, depth, and emotion. Her use of colour and form invites you into a world shaped by instinct, imagination, and connection to nature.

We are especially excited to welcome Melany this year, as her creative mind, her experimental approach to materials, and her strong connection to nature align beautifully with The Florian’s atmosphere and values 🌿

We can’t wait to see how her work transforms our walls and brings a new layer of inspiration to the hotel. Welcome, Melany 💚

With a background as a mathematician turned visual artist, Diana transforms discarded everyday objects into extraordinary mosaic-style artworks — from toys and bottle caps to beads and unexpected fragments of life.

Her work plays with perspective: step back and you see the full story, step closer and discover a universe of tiny details and hidden meaning.

Announcing the first artist joining The Art (Cycle) Tour 2026 at The Florian: Cees Smit .visch

Cees returns with a powerful new series that sits beautifully between memory and reality. His paintings balance realism with a nostalgic edge — scenes that feel instantly recognisable, yet quietly make you pause and look again.

His latest work, inspired by vintage gas stations, connects back to his book “Surviving Hemophilia: A Road Trip Through the World of Healthcare” and reflections on how everyday life and survival often intersect in unexpected ways. The result is a body of work that feels both cinematic and deeply human.

At The Florian, we’re always drawn to stories that carry meaning beneath the surface — and Cees’ work does exactly that. Bold, reflective, and full of character.

We are super excited for the upcoming FIFA matches and can’t wait to share this sportive atmosphere with you at The Florian Hotel. Throughout the tournament, we will be streaming the games live for our guests so you can enjoy every goal, every moment, and every celebration together with us.

Of course, we also warmly welcome locals to join us and experience the matches in our bar and restaurant. Whether you are staying at the hotel or just stopping by, everyone is invited to be part of the action.

Our bar and restaurant will be operating during their regular opening hours, so you can enjoy great drinks and food while watching the games.

Please note that some matches take place very late in the evening. Unfortunately, for those late-night games we are not able to extend our food and beverage service hours. However, for all matches during our regular operating times, we are fully open and ready to serve you.

We are delighted to announce that The Florian Hotel will once again be part of the Art (Cycle) Tour organized by .haarlemmermeer …For the second edition, we are proud to welcome three special artists who will showcase their work in our hotel during this inspiring weekend of art and cycling.

Mark your calendar and join us on Saturday, 20 June and Sunday, 21 June, from 09:00 to 17:00. Whether you’re following the cycling route or simply looking for a unique cultural outing, everyone is welcome to visit our art exhibition and meet fellow art lovers.
