A restaurant named after their little girl.

Bistrôt Chez Charlotte sits in the woods around Doorn in The Netherlands, a young couple’s French bistro in its first season. It looks like a fairytale.

We built them an 8 by 14.5 metre stretch tent on fixed chestnut poles, then put it up ourselves under the trees. Such a wonderful environment.

Otto, one of the owners, asked for fixed poles for one reason: he likes a shape that lines up, and it leaves more floor for the tables.

He sold the tent, then taught the buyer to put it up himself. Near Bordeaux, Sébastien of Royal Event shows the owner how to raise it, take it down, and store it for winter.

On the banks of the Sèvre in Niort, western France, Kévin Eberhard runs Mazette! Le Château, a small bed and breakfast at the gateway to the Marais Poitevin.

Last year he bought his first stretch tent and placed it in the garden, a cosy spot in a 7000 square metre park by the water. He is thinking like a real entrepreneur without losing his heart for nature in rural France.

It is a small project, and that is the point. You can begin with one tent and grow from there. Or you can stay small and cosy. That’s up to you

One of the largest stretch tents we have built this season now stands at Capfun De Rotonde in Enspijk, a family park in the Betuwe region of the Netherlands, set around its own swimming lake.

A tent on this scale does something to a place. It rests on fixed chestnut poles, thick and heavy, which carry the canvas and leave the floor beneath them open and usable. Those poles also give the tent its character, a warmth and an honesty that a lightweight frame never quite has.

The circus performs under it, the dance troupe takes the floor, and on some evenings it becomes the bar.

It is not the first Capfun park we have worked on, and a project this size is a good reason it will not be the last.

Do you know what a French guinguette is?
At L'Orangerie de Lanniron, a five-star campsite set around a château near Quimper in Brittany, they know how to create extra revenue with it.

The traditional French open-air café where people gather for w**e, food and a bit of music is special. It sits under a Eurostretch tent. Four poles in a row, holding the lights. A stage under the canvas.

Let them entertain you.

Early 2024: no tents. Today: almost 1,000 square metres of them.

José Chorro (on the right) built from scratch in Petrer, in the Alicante region, to work the events and tent-rental market. His first stretch tents came off our floor in the Netherlands. He kept coming back.

The growth is his. We keep the canvas coming.

First cake. Then a tour. Then we handed our colleagues loaded ri**es.

We work with people from more than one country, so this year the company outing crossed a border. Our colleague Richard, who lives in Germany, planned the whole thing and hosted us in Emmerich, a town on the Rhine.

The main event was a proper German Schützenverein. The target was a bird. A fake one, before anyone worries. You could score on the head, the wings or the whole body, and Richard had made his own prizes for each, handed out at a full ceremony as if rewards were at stake. For some of us, they were.

We visited Pepe Jover de Llanza at ASEcarpas, our partner in the city. Saw how they operate when demand is at its peak. The calls, the decisions, the details you only notice when you are actually there.

Some venues come with features you would not want to remove.

On this project in Spain, the location had palm trees growing in the middle of the terrace area. The brief was to cover the space without losing them.

The result is a sand-coloured stretch tent that fits the landscape. Olive fields, Spanish mountains and a swimming pool frame the scene.
