There are many women shaping life in these islands. Building businesses, working with the land and keeping local knowledge and traditions alive. Ragnhild is one of them.

A textile artist and craftswoman, creativity has been part of Ragnhild’s life for as long as she can remember. Through Lofoten Wool, she brings that creative practice together with a deep knowledge of wool, working with wool from Old Norse sheep and turning a local resource into something that carries both place and tradition forward.

We’re proud to share this local product with our guests, made by people who care deeply about where it comes from.

Somewhere between setting out and finding our way home, we stop for lunch.

The fire is lit, something goes on, and slowly everyone gathers around. After hours outside, there is something about the warmth of the fire, a hot meal and the smell of freshly brewed coffee that makes you want to stay a little longer.

These pauses are as much a part of the day as where we are heading. A chance to be in the moment, share a meal and simply sit together before we continue on our way.

Days in Lofoten tend to unfold like that.

The best pantry doesn’t have shelves.
August is one of Lofoten’s most generous seasons. Wild berries, fragrant herbs, and edible flowers are all part of Lofoten’s seasonal harvest.

Out in the landscape, each ingredient tells us something about the time of year and the place it comes from. It’s about understanding the landscape, learning what’s in season, and discovering how local ingredients shape the flavours of the region.
