Gingerbread baking on a little island north of the Arctic Circle. 🎄❄️

The dough is on the table, the coffee is ready, and outside our rorbu, the sea stretches towards the snow-covered mountains.

It’s the polar night season here on Vengsøy. The days are short, the Christmas lights are on, and we’re in no hurry to be anywhere else.

A little gingerbread baking, a good view and a quiet December afternoon by the sea. ❤️

Not everything is listed when you book a stay with us ❤️

Some things are simply part of the way we welcome our guests.

Before you arrive, we prepare a little basket with firewood kindling, matches, fire starters, seat pads and sticks for roasting sausages over the fire. And, of course, a personal welcome from us.

Nothing fancy. Just a few things to make it easier to head outside, light a fire and enjoy a quiet moment by the sea.

It’s one of those little details we love preparing for our guests.
