Chatha: Puja (Chhath Puja)
The Newar community has been in conflict with Nepal for many years. Chatha or Ganesh Chauthi is also one of the festivals. This festival is celebrated on Bhadra Shukla Chauthi day. In the language it is called Chatha and the deity worshiped in Nepal on this day is called Chatha Devta. On this day Lord Ganesha will be created in Navadurga Gana of Bhaktapur. Therefore, this day is also celebrated as Ganesh Chauthi. On this day, from early morning, devotees perform pooja, archana at the nearby Ganesha temple. Worship of Lord Ganesha in the morning Tapni Chatha: Worship of Lord Ganesha at night after moon sighting. Chatha: There is a legend related to Puja Kin Rati. Lord Ganesha's form was mocked by Chandradev, Ganesha got angry and cursed Chandradev that from now on the sight of the moon will be blamed on the moon and then it will be blamed for false theft. In this way everyone stopped seeing Chandradev due to the curse. Realizing the mistake, Chandra begged Lord Ganesha for forgiveness and if Ganesha was pleased, he could take back all the curses, but on the day of Jwalant Chaturthi (Chatha:), please forgive the sins of other days. Even today, there is a tradition of hiding in thiami to see the moon on the day of Yati Chatha. In the Dwapara Yuga, Lord Krishna was accused of being a false thief who looked at the moon on the day of Chatha, and was accused of stealing the Syamantaka gem and killing Prasen. Ganesha is worshiped to ask for forgiveness to be freed from guilt. Therefore, it is believed that the moon will not be seen on this day. If you look at the moon by mistake, it is a prayer of Ganesha to ask for forgiveness so that you do not suffer from the moon.
