Chitwan Sakriya Women's Foundation, in collaboration with ActionAid Nepal and with financial support from the Irish Government under the Samriddhi Project, successfully organized an interactive and participatory “Sachatana Bazaar” at Madi-07, Devendrapur to raise awareness against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The program featured engaging activities such as Ludo games, dart games, quiz competitions, and “True or False” games focused on GBV-related issues. These activities highlighted important topics including legal provisions related to GBV, harmful social misconceptions that perpetuate violence, and the critical role of communities in ending gender-based violence.
Through these interactive learning approaches, participants were able to better understand GBV-related issues, share their personal experiences, and openly discuss violence and discrimination in a supportive environment. The Sachatana Bazaar also provided information on where to report incidents of GBV, how to access legal assistance, and ways to support survivors of violence. Gifts were distributed to participants who actively engaged in the games and activities.
The event was attended by the Mayor, Chief Administrative Officer, and elected representatives of Madi Municipality. An estimated 200 participants were sensitized and made aware about gender-based violence through the program.
