About Teej:
Teej is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated by women, especially in Nepal and India. It is dedicated to Goddess Parvati and her union with Lord Shiva. Married women observe fasts for the long life and prosperity of their husbands, while unmarried women pray for a good life partner.
The festival is also a celebration of womanhood, family bonding, dance, music, and traditional red attire. It usually lasts for three days—marked by Dar Khane Din (feast day), fasting and rituals, and Rishi Panchami.
