July and August are ceded to the annual mosoon when tropical deluges refresh the hilltop, refill water tanks and irrigate the farmland.

With green views, clouds moving softly across the peaks, rest feels like part of the season, which is why we all take a well-earned break. Staff have time for famring, reconnecting with families and communities.

Later in the month the team returns to prepare for reopening in September. That will be a great time for yoga, quiet meditation or a therapeutic massage that helps the body settle into a slower rhythm.

Close to Pokhara but elevated to solitude.

Set on a quiet hilltop ridge, our lodge brings cooler air, open Himalayan views and private garden spaces made for slow days. The rooms are set in hand-cut stone bungalows with their own verandas, so the view becomes part of the stay.

Take a sip and the day feels lighter. Softer. More your own.

Dining in the Tiger Mountain way.

Meals are served on open terraces where guests can enjoy fresh air, magnificent views and food abundant with local ingredients. Chef Lalu and his team ensure everything is freshly home made.

It is relaxed, personal and closely connected to the hilltop setting.

When the water is this clear, the view stays twice.

Above Pokhara, the pool reflects the mountain in a way that feels almost unreal. Just still water, cool air and a quieter side of Nepal.

It is the kind of view that makes guests pause mid-conversation, just to make sure the mountain is really there.

Have you ever wondered why it is called Tiger Mountain?

The name carries a chunk of Nepal’s tourism heritage. It brings together Tiger Tops, the pioneer of conservation-led jungle safairs, and Mountain Travel Nepal, the first trekking agency, founded by Lt. Col. Jimmy Roberts. Both were established in 1965.

From the wild jungles of Chitwan to the high trails of the Himalayas, both names forged a more thoughtful way of exploring Nepal.

That legacy still lives quietly here, in our hilltop setting; both in our foucs on regenerative tourism and in the mountain stories in Colonel Jimmy’s Library. As with the rich abundance of nature in the lodge grounds.

Our school support goes beyond books.

Many guests may know that Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge helps provide local schools. We provide an annual subsidy to our local Shiva Shakti School to support where government funding cannot fully meet the need. We empower school trustees and staff to decide on how best to allocate the funds. In this way our support is always community based and connumity led.

Together with our guests, we are proud to support education that stays rooted in the local community.

With every class that continues, more children can learn close to home. More girls can stay in education longer. And the connection between the lodge, our guests and the local community grows stronger.

Our cosy rooms are made for the kind of stay that stays with you.

Not because it tries to impress, but because of the quiet comforts that make the room feel your own. A soft bathrobe after a long day. A private balcony for the morning view. Green hills and mountain air just beyond the door.

It is easy to see why so many guests look back on their stay at Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge with such fondness.

Arrival tastes better with fresh Nepal tea.

After days on the trail, the first sip feels like a small luxury. The tea arrives with cakes on the terrace, where the Himalayan view opens wide and the clouds move gently around the peaks.

For a moment, there is nothing to do but sit back and let the journey soften.

A warm welcome above Pokhara.

Most lodges light up after dark. Tiger Mountain makes the opposite choice, and has made it since 1998.

Outdoor lighting stays low, not as an aesthetic decision but as a form of respect: for the forest that continues its work through the night, for the ecosystem that needs darkness to function, for the Annapurna range that has held this horizon long before anyone thought to build here.

What that choice gives back to guests is something that cannot be designed.

The stillness that arrives after dark at this altitude, the sky as it actually is, the feeling of sitting quietly inside a landscape that is very much alive around you. Regenerative travel looks like many things. Some nights, it looks like this.

In the hills above Pokhara, red is not just a colour.

It is the sky before it hands the day over to the stars.
It is the fire that pulls everyone a little closer when the mountain air turns cool.
It is the red 'raato mato' natural colourwash of the room that cocoons you at the end of the day.
At Tiger Mountain, red is something shared with you and in it you will find the kind of warmth that embodies mindful hospitality.
