🟡⚫️ THE MERC is well and truly in his groove!

Lewis made it 3 wins from his last 6 starts with another terrific performance to take out the Cambridge Rewards Final tonight! 💪

Fantastic to see some better stakes on offer at Cambridge tonight, and even better to be taking a share of them home!

Awesome having co-owner Libby on course with Jordy to help cheer Lewis home! Always that little bit sweeter when the owners are there to enjoy the moment! 🥳

Thanks to Nigel, one of Teddy’s part owners, for coming out and grabbing some footage of Teddy this morning. If you go to the page there is also a reel and a part 2 to the video for those interested.

Once again, a huge thankyou to the Dancingonmoonlight Farm crew for their hospitality. As you can see the property is amazing and it’s any wonder Teddy is so happy on his South Island adventure! Bring on Ashburton tomorrow🤞

Five amateur drives, three wins and two seconds for Fergus Schumacher!

After recording 50 wins as a junior, the 31-year-old is enjoying a new chapter in the amateur ranks, with Miki’s Moment delivering his latest success in a nose finish at Cambridge on Thursday.

Between yearling preparation at Breckon Farms, helping local trainers and race night drives, Schumacher’s love of the game remains strong.

We couldn’t be happier to have Fergus onboard, and it’s been fantastic to see him salute the judge in our colours twice recently! 🏆

A great mate who’s always willing to lend a hand whenever needed, so it makes those winning moments even more special!

And we have to say, he looks pretty good in yellow and black! 🟡⚫️✅

Another fantastic result for one of our recent pre-trainers from the Ralph Manning stable, with VESPHIRE making a winning return at Te Aroha today! Despite doing it the tough way, Vera was all heart - saluting first-up in terrific style! 🥇

We absolutely loved having this girl at our stables, and she certainly added a touch of bling to the tie-ups each morning! ✨

🎉A huge congratulations to her owners, Eagle Racing, and another brilliant training effort from Ralph, Sarah and the entire team

Always rewarding to see horses we’ve had a hand in preparing go on to perform so well! 👏👏

Have a little read about Lewis, our last start winner!

If you’ve spotted The Merc at the races lately, you might have noticed his warm-up looks a little different.
Co-trainer Jo Ferguson has been using ridden work to help him strengthen up, settle and, most importantly, enjoy his job again. And lately, that’s followed him all the way to race day.
So what’s the thinking behind it, and is it working?
