So sad to see headlines like this popping up more regularly! There are so many contributing factors to camps becoming out of reach for schools and their communities that you'll see in this article. This is why we are committed to keeping camp fees at Hibburt Park low, because these experiences are so valuable for our young people in Aotearoa and they should be accessible for all schools and their whanau! If your school is thinking about having to cancel camps because of cost, please contact us, we would love to explore with you how Hibburt Park could be part of a solution!

Papatoetoe Intermediate cancelled its camp after only 160 of 750 pupils signed up.

What an awesome school principal!
"everybody goes to camp because it's so important to get kids out and about in the fresh air and doing experiences they're a bit unsure of and it's unusual, and maybe only experience once in their lives."

We couldn't agree more 😊

A determined Otago school principal is not one to run from a problem, instead he is literally running towards a solution.

So many beautiful details in our mural created by that we wanted to showcase! If you like a wee art write up read on:

We loved the idea of basing this mural around Psalm 96 because it referenced the surroundings of Hibburt Park: the fields, the trees, the sea! Our hope for everyone who visits Hibburt Park is that they feel peace and joy, that it is a place of relaxation and restoration, but also a place of fun memories that create belonging and connection.
We wanted this mural to be a reflection of who we are as a faith based campsite, but also feels welcoming and inviting to people of all beliefs and backgrounds. The more you look at this artwork, the more you find and we think that's a little bit what it's like to be a follower of Jesus 😊

"Best kitchen I have catered in for a long time!" That's the verdict from a school who recently stayed with us - we will take it! Couldn't be happier with our new kitchen! Fresh floors, paint, tiles, benches, appliances (A STERILISER!) and we've now got an awesome walk in pantry providing heaps more storage space! Amazing mahi from James, our manager, the guys at and their associated trades! What a transformation 👌
