We honestly don't quite know what to say.
To find out that Talisman has been nominated for both Regional Hospitality Venue of the Year and Best Bay Gastro Pub at the 2026 Bay of Plenty Hospo Awards is incredibly humbling.
More than anything, we just want to say thank you.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate us and support our little family business. It means more than you'll ever know.
When Michele and I took on Talisman, we never set out chasing awards. We simply wanted to create a place where people felt welcome, where families could gather, friends could catch up, celebrations could be shared, and great food and genuine hospitality came first.
This nomination belongs to so many people.
To our incredible team, who work tirelessly every day with pride, passion and care. To our amazing chefs, front of house, kitchen hands and bar staff who treat this place like it's their own.
To our loyal locals who pop in for a quiet drink after work, our regulars who have become friends, the visitors who choose to stop in while passing through, and everyone who has recommended us to others... thank you.
Running a hospitality business isn't always easy, but moments like this remind us exactly why we do it.
We're incredibly proud of what we've built together and grateful to be part of such a supportive community.
Whatever happens next, simply being nominated alongside so many fantastic venues is an honour in itself.
