Today is my last day as the caretaker of this beautiful pub for the previous 23 years. It has been my absolute pleasure to serve you all and to lead a fabulous and supportive team which I now leave behind me. I wish Kartik great success and know his experience and youthful vigour will take the hotel to a new level. Hope to see you all on the other side of the bar in the future. Ngā mihi.

The hotel will be closed from 3pm tomorrow Friday to celebrate the too short life of my beautiful wife and fellow publican Clare. Louis, Hugo and I have been touched by your many kind messages of support and condolescences but please understand that it has been somewhat overwhelming to reply to all at present.
