Barkers Lodge Barkers Lodge is at the base of Mt Hutt ski area in the town of Methven. It is just an hour's drive to Christchurch's international airport.

Barkers Lodge is open for bookings during the ski season and offers warm hospitality, comfortable accommodation, and a relaxed atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. Methven is approximately a 35 minute drive to the top carpark at Mt Hutt in ideal road conditions. Barkers Lodge is ideal for large groups with a large communal area for gathering and socialising. This is also a great space for families - children can be occupied by a gaming console, free wifi in communal areas or the pool table while parents stay in sight enjoying the delights of the bar including a vast selection of New Zealand craft beers. We offer great rates for children. Barkers stays open for the winter ski season only. Large groups wanting accommodation outside the ski season should email the management. Many sports teams and extended family groups have found the accommodation ideal for a stay during a tournament in the district or for a special get together. Buffet meals are normally available in the winter for those who have asked for these at the time of booking their accommodation. Next to Barkers are our Cedar Chalets. These are self-contained accommodation, with a fully functional kitchen and laundry in each Chalet. Cedar Chalets operate all year round. See https://www.cedarchalets.co.nz
