☕️ A day in the life of the boss… apparently.

People think Nic spends his days sitting in the sun, drinking coffee and snacking while everyone else does the work… 😂

Meanwhile, Nic is actually:
🕳️ Digging holes
🔨 Updating units
💡 Changing lights
🛠️ Fixing whatever has decided to break today
🙋‍♂️ Helping guests
🧹 Cleaning
…and generally keeping the park running behind the scenes.

So yes, there is coffee. There are snacks. And occasionally he might even sit down 😏

But when your job title is Boss + Maintenance + Fix-It-When-It-Breaks Department, there’s not quite as much sitting in the sun as people might think! 😂

Saturday morning plans? 🏃‍♀️

If you’re heading to Oamaru Parkrun, did you know we’re just a few minutes’ walk from the start?

Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am in the Oamaru Public Gardens, and from Oamaru TOP 10 it’s an easy walk over the footbridge and through the gardens.

So if you’re staying with us for the weekend, you can leave the car behind, wander over for your run (or walk!), and be back at the park in no time.

A pretty nice way to start a Saturday morning.

We checked the grounds.
We checked reception.
And then we finally found him… at the computer like nothing had happened 😂

Safe to say, Nic likes to keep us on our toes… or in this case, our hands 🙃

✨ Spend the perfect day exploring Oamaru!

Start your morning with a sunrise at the lookout before grabbing breakfast at one of our favourite local cafés. (TOP 10 Members – don’t forget you receive discounts at Short Black Café 🙌)

Coffee in hand, wander along the harbour and keep your eyes peeled for some of the locals… you might even spot a playful seal!

Then it’s time to hit the road and explore some of Waitaki’s most iconic sights:

📍 Kakanui Beach

After working up an appetite, stop in at Scott’s Brewery for a locally brewed b**r and one of their famous pizzas. 🍕🍺

Back in town, step into another world at Steampunk HQ, wander the beautiful Victorian Precinct, browse the local shops (TOP 10 Members also receive a discount at Rose’s General Store), then finish the day with a stroll through the stunning Oamaru Public Gardens before watching the world’s smallest penguins come ashore at dusk.
