A little look back at last week’s TOP 10 Holiday Parks Conference 🥂✨

Nic and I headed to Auckland for a few days of catching up with other park owners, picking up new ideas, learning a LOT.

Then came awards night… 🏆

We were absolutely stoked to be finalists in TWO categories! 🙌 While we didn’t take home a trophy this time, being recognised as a finalist amongst so many awesome parks was pretty special ❤️

Now back to Oamaru with plenty of ideas, a slightly larger coffee bill and hopefully enough energy to put all those ideas into action! 😂

From tired to tidy… what a difference!

We’ve just finished giving our motel unit a much-needed refresh, and we’re pretty happy with how it’s turned out! ✨

Fresh paint, a fresh feel, and a unit that’s ready to welcome its next guests. 🛏️🤍

A huge thank you to Ricky from Tina Whyte for the amazing paint job — you’ve made our lives (and our walls) look a whole lot better! 😂👏

We’ve got plenty more little projects in the works around the park… so watch this space! 👀

☕️ A day in the life of the boss… apparently.

People think Nic spends his days sitting in the sun, drinking coffee and snacking while everyone else does the work… 😂

Meanwhile, Nic is actually:
🕳️ Digging holes
🔨 Updating units
💡 Changing lights
🛠️ Fixing whatever has decided to break today
🙋‍♂️ Helping guests
🧹 Cleaning
…and generally keeping the park running behind the scenes.

So yes, there is coffee. There are snacks. And occasionally he might even sit down 😏

But when your job title is Boss + Maintenance + Fix-It-When-It-Breaks Department, there’s not quite as much sitting in the sun as people might think! 😂

Saturday morning plans? 🏃‍♀️

If you’re heading to Oamaru Parkrun, did you know we’re just a few minutes’ walk from the start?

Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am in the Oamaru Public Gardens, and from Oamaru TOP 10 it’s an easy walk over the footbridge and through the gardens.

So if you’re staying with us for the weekend, you can leave the car behind, wander over for your run (or walk!), and be back at the park in no time.

A pretty nice way to start a Saturday morning.

POV: You’re trying to find your boss, but he’s literally walking around upside down.

We checked the grounds.
We checked reception.
And then we finally found him… at the computer like nothing had happened 😂

Safe to say, Nic likes to keep us on our toes… or in this case, our hands 🙃
