At Ōmārama TOP10 Holiday Park, the recycling system was in place, but recyclable material was still ending up in the rubbish. Rather than accept that as part of running a busy holiday park, owners Natalie and Erwin Beiboer decided to take a more hands-on approach.

💔 With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas “Tommy” Carter.

Tommy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, aged 75.

He was a much-loved and familiar face around our park and in town, and his presence will be deeply missed by all of us. The park simply won’t be the same without him.

We feel incredibly grateful to have known Tommy and to have shared so many memories with him over the years. His kindness, character and presence will remain a special part of our park’s story.

Our deepest condolences are with Tommy’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Tommy. You will be missed more than words can say 🕊️

Super grateful to be named as a finalist for the Holiday Parks New Zealand Sustainable Commitment Award. Hand-sorting recyclables from our bins isn’t always glamorous, but knowing we’re doing our bit for the planet makes it a pleasure every single day. 🌏💚
