in a villa with awesome ocean views in a central Paraparaumu location.

Follow our journey - a loving and slightly crazy Kiwi/Vietnamese couple - to restore this beautiful and eccentric place to its "nostalgic Kiwi charm, quietly grand".

Gardening really is a never-ending project. There’s always something to do, but the best part is seeing the results of your efforts every day, whether it’s a tidier corner of the garden, a rose bush full of buds, or young plants growing little by little.

A guest came to stay at Cherry Villa and ended up helping Mum in the garden!

At Cherry Villa, we sometimes have guests who don’t just come to relax, but volunteer to get their hands dirty in the garden too. How lovely is that!

Vietnamese bánh khúc 🇻🇳 What makes it special? Sticky rice infused with the earthy, distinctive aroma of khúc leaves, wrapped around creamy mung beans and savoury, peppery pork belly. Soft, chewy, fragrant, and full of traditional Vietnamese flavour - even made with dried leaves in New Zealand!

An afternoon at Cherry Villa, soaking in the spa while watching the last golden rays of sunshine fade over the sea. No rush, no plans, just unwinding in nature and listening to the birds calling to each other as they return to their nests.

If you’re looking for a little escape from the busyness of everyday life, Cherry Villa is here, waiting to welcome you.

Our mum is 78 and has spent the whole day landscaping the garden at Cherry Villa. What a hard-working woman! ❤️

Age is just a number when you have this much energy, passion and love for gardening. So proud of her!

We’ve been gifted nearly 50 mature rose bushes, bringing the total number of roses at Cherry Villa to over 100! Hopefully, they’ll settle into their new home, recover quickly and soon fill the garden with beautiful blooms and fragrance. 🌹
