Bird of the Year voting is open!

Head over to birdoftheyear.org.nz to place your vote.

You can vote for up to five birds, luckily, because with more than 50 species recorded around the Park, we couldn't choose just one favourite.

From pīwakawaka and tūī to kererū, weka and kiwi, there's plenty of birdlife to discover when you stay with us.

And then there's the kororā (little penguin), with its own special connection to Russell.

So we're sitting this one out and cheering for the whole flock.

Who are you voting for?

Here’s to the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who are there, day after day.

Slow down. Explore when you feel like it.
You don't need to fill every minute of your getaway.

But when you're ready to explore, there's plenty waiting just beyond the park — beautiful beaches, scenic walks, Russell's historic waterfront, glowworms, island adventures and more.

We've put together our Russell Must-Do List to help you discover some of our favourite local experiences.
