A 5-star review from a weekend at the Lodge: "Stayed out at River Valley for the weekend celebrating a friend's 40th Birthday. The staff, Janey, Coke, Miranda and Morgan were amazing... they fed us delicious meals and delivered on comfortable rooms in a great setting. If I were to do this again, River Valley would definitely be in as a location."

DID YOU KNOW — Self-guided vs guided e-bike trips
Did you know our day e-bike trips are self-guided, but every multi-day trip — Tussock to Dune and Annie to Cape included — is fully guided? On the multi-day rides you've got an experienced guide with you the whole way, handling navigation, local knowledge, and the occasional mechanical hiccup, so you can just enjoy the ride.

Team Christmas lunch, sorted.

Looking for a Christmas get-together for the team that doesn't involve a crowded restaurant? The Scrooge is our daytime festive lunch at the Lodge: a two-course lunch in the courtyard, garden games, a swim in the river if you're game, and one complimentary drink. An optional sauna and spa add-on is available too. $65pp, minimum four adult fares. Functions need to be held before Christmas, so now's the time to lock in a date. Link in the first comment.

See Yourself on a Multi-Day Trip

Our multi-day season opens on 1 November with Mokai Canyon, and the first departure is 23 November. Annie to Cape's first departure is 20 November, and Tussock to Dune begins 13 December. The Epic Rangitikei and Rangitikei River Explorer are on the water this season too — get in touch for dates. Whichever kind of multi-day adventure you're after, now's the time to lock in your dates.

The Taihape area is well known for the spectacular spring flowering of Kowhai. Nowhere is this more evident than on the Rangitikei River. River Valley's Awesome Scenic Rafting Adventure is the perfect trip to see for yourself. You will have to be quick, though. Full bloom will probably be over in a couple of weeks.

Did you know our Christmas functions don't have to follow a set package? You can mix and match the options, add an adventure to a lunch or dinner, or hire the whole venue exclusively for your group. Tell the Reservations Team what you have in mind and they'll put together a custom quote. Dietary requirements are no trouble either — just mention them when you book.

Looking for a Christmas get-together that's a bit different from the usual restaurant booking? Bring the team, the family or the friends to the river. Choose a relaxed festive lunch with garden games and a swim in the river (The Scrooge, $65pp), or an evening sit-down dinner with sharing platters and dessert boards (The Grinch, $85pp). If you'd like some adventure first, add e-bikes, scenic or Grade 5 rafting, or a horse trek with The Cracker or The Rangitikei Sleigher. Saturdays book out early, so it pays to get in sooner rather than later. Minimum four adult fares.

A 5-star review fresh off the Tussock to Dune trail: "Fantastic e-bike on the tussocks to dunes multiday ride. Brian and Ross were very patient with our group of 8 with different levels of experience. The food and accomodation were outstanding & the terrain was interesting and challenging.
