Shady Rest Bed and Breakfast Shady Rest is an historic early 20th century house originally built for a doctors residence. It has There is a courtyard also at back that has all day sun .

There are three ensuite doubles two with bath tubs , two doubles with private bathrooms next door and a single room with a private bathroom. There is a large fully equipped kitchen , dining room and a large tv lounge. The house has been restored and modernized with every consideration to the period . The gardens have mature native trees all around and a stream that passes at the bottom of the garden. Theres a nice big table and chairs a barbecue ,a pizza oven and a deck with a raised garden that surrounds the kitchen window. There are Tui, fantails ,pukeko,silver eye and even an occasional morepork hooting! There is tame eels in the stream too. Guests have free range of the entire place and can make use of all the facilities provided including the outside bath with lashings of hot water , and there is also an orgone accumulator .
