Another subtle update to the lodge this summer: new mattresses in our shared rooms! 🛏️

We’ve gone with the Chiro Elite pocket spring mattress, so you’ll get a comfy, supported night’s sleep whether you’re hiking in along Te Araroa, riding the Mountain to Sea, or just hanging out with your whānau and the cuzzies.

Tired legs, full hearts, good sleep. Come stay with us. 🌿

Between farm chores and foaling, we’ve been busy this winter giving the lodge some love, so it’s ready for your spring and summer adventures. 🌿
If you’ve stayed with us before, you’ll know where we started. There’s still more on our list, but we’re really happy with how far it’s come.
We now have 3 private queen cabins, a large family cabin, and 3 shared rooms sleeping up to 4. There’s plenty of communal space to spread out in, plus room for extra tents or vans.
If you’re thinking about a gathering here at Hikumutu Valley Farm and Lodge, we’d love to hear about it.

We’ve been busy, busy on the farm over the last few months, with plenty of projects on the go! It’s exciting to see them starting to come to fruition.

First up, check out our fantastic new stock yards, expertly crafted by the team at Meersbrooke Fencing. What a difference!

What a treat to have our friend, and rising political star, Yasmine Serhan, here from their completion... I think we should have got her to cut a ribbon or something! 👑

Yikes - that was a rough start to Saturday morning. Looks like the epicentre was literally right underneath us on the Neighbours farm.

So appreciate all your messages of concern. Been an anxious few hours waiting for enough light to check the stock, but first observations suggest all our furry family are okay, and just a few landslides to deal with when it stops raining. Hope everybody else is staying safe out there!

The first baby calves have started to arrive, which means it’s time to move the girls to safer pastures and get ready for a few more new arrivals 🐮 Come on, girls—we’re ready for you!🤠🐄🥰
