Scotty tramper staying tonight parked in the Dore Pass car park for 3 nights had his car broken into. Lost heaps of stuff like clothing, jumper cables, food, all sorts off low value items. Very very rare to hear of such an incident! One of our other guests has paid for his night here. Cheers Bob Anderson

Trip to Milford with thed BMW motorcycle club guys. Five stayed 2 nights. Traffic building up again on the road. Quite a few buses. Still parking ok at Milford but paid unless you walk about 20/30 mins. Caf still ok. Rain was forecast but a perfect sunny day. Cheers Bob

Autumn is the perfect time of year for a roadie – pack the car, hit the road and make sure you drop into Te Anau to do the Lake Marion hike! Then spend the night with us before your next destination.

Helicopter ride to & from Mt Titiroa. About 45min wander around checking out this amazing place. The whole mountain top is made from quartz & mica rocks. That's why from a distance it looks as if it's covered in old snow. A most remarkable trip. Thanks to Southern Lakes choppers. Cheers Bob

With the borders closed, it's honestly the best time to base yourself in Te Anau and take day trips to Milford Sound (pictured) and Doubtful Sound.

I absolutely loved my stay at Bob and Maxines. They are both lovely people and the accommodation was clean and cosy. The view of the mountains, whilst curled up with my book by the fireplace, was perfect. The property also has Alpaca’s which I loved. Wifi was very good. There was also fruit available for free in the kitchen. It really was a home away from home. Highly recommended.

It's such a beautiful time of year to be visiting Te Anau!

When visiting the wild and wonderous land of Fiordland make sure you add enough time to your travels to explore the town of Te Anau.

Autumn is a perfect season to visit this idyllic town nestled on the shores of New Zealand’s second-largest lake (or largest if we were measuring in volume, but who's counting.. not us 😉)
