Last day on the cruise ship with a visit to Valencia for Pinxtos/Tapas for a walking tour. Was great!!!!

We are well through Spring now and with the fine weather we have been having it is looking stunning in the area. Tracks are all due to be opened in the next week, with Milford Track on the 30th and the Routeburn on the 7th of December. Te Anau has so many options for things to do, from Frisbee Golf, short walks around the Bird Sanctuary, Doubtful Sound cruises/day trips to Milford for walking and cruising.
The lake is totally swimmable and good dining and accommodation available aplenty.
Come visit the south.

So spring has sprung and along with some wind ( but not always) we have sunshine, longer and warmer days and growth in our gardens/lawns. Rain has freshened up the Kepler Track and it smells gorgeous. Come on over.

Visiting Fiordland in the winter has a totally different feel from other seasons. It is often calm with still waters, every shade of gray through to dark greens of the vegetation. Native bird song carries well in the air and to take time to stand in the forest and enjoy the moment is pretty special.
Te Anau is quiet but open with restaurants and services. Tourism is ticking over a little like it always has in the winter and we think it is a very special part of the world.

We are getting some stunning Southern weather currently and not too busy till February.
