Our favourite weekend in Raglan is almost here! 🎨

Every spring, our little seaside town seems to burst to life with an extra dose of colour, creativity and energy for Raglan Arts Weekend. This Labour weekend, 24-26 October, more than 70 incredible local artists will showcase their work across Whāingaroa.

Make a weekend of it with us at Raglan Rural Retreats. Spend your days wandering the art trail and discovering dozens of studios tucked around town and the countryside, then retreat back to the peace and quiet of nature for a slow evening under the stars. 🍃

And this year, there’s a little twist…Raglan Rural Retreats will be joining the art trail too, showcasing a different and exciting kind of creative practice.

The glamping tent felt like a cosy sanctuary tucked into nature, and the spa and Finnish sauna became our favourite ritual, melting away every bit of stress. Our two‑year‑old was absolutely in her element — greeting the ducks, watching the alpacas, and spotting fish with wide‑eyed wonder. Seeing her joy made the whole stay feel even more special. 🏄🏼‍♀️ Wrap up warm and head to Ngarunui Beach or Manu Bay to watch the surfers
🎨 Browse our incredible local artists and makers at the Creative Market at the Old School Arts Centre (the next market is on 12 July)
☕ Warm up over locally roasted coffee, caffeine-free chai or hot chocolate at INDI coffee shop, or share some hot chips and enjoy the slow harbour views from the wharf
🛹 Bring the scooters or skateboards and spend an afternoon at the pump track at the Raglan Domain
🔥 Finish the day toasting marshmallows around the fire as the stars come out
