And now for something completely different, she says with one arm!
The A-Z is finished! 🥳

Twenty-six letters.
Quite a few rabbit holes.
And probably more things you now know about Turangi than you ever expected.
But we haven't finished talking about our little corner of the Central Plateau just yet.
We're going to share some of the things we think visitors should know about us and the area we call home.
So ... stay tuned ...

Z is for Zzzs…
After a long break and a wonderful holiday in Australia, you’d think we’d come home refreshed and raring to go …
Well, not quite!
There was sightseeing, family time, plenty of rest, and, thanks to an unfortunate accident, rather more enforced lying around than we’d planned!
But slowly, surely, the batteries are recharging.
So here’s to Zzzs, catching our breath, and getting back into the swing of things at The Olive Rabbit. We are nearly up and ready for this coming season.

“Y is for YEE-OUCHIE!
And WHY we never travel without insurance…”

“Things you don’t expect to bring home from a trip: souvenirs, great memories… and a spectacular shiner.

Mary took a tumble while visiting family in Melbourne last week and has the bruises to prove it. Thankfully she’s recovering well, and thankfully she had travel insurance!

Consider this your friendly reminder that travel insurance is worth every cent. Even if your biggest travel mishap is usually losing your sunglasses.”

X marks the spot!

Although this guest’s socks seemed to have a different idea …

Sometimes you just have to follow the clues.

W is for Wandering
Sometimes the best way to discover the Central Plateau is to simply wander.
° Down a quiet river track.
° Through the bush.
° Along a back road.
° Into a good café.
Or somewhere you hadn’t planned to go at all.
And yes … sometimes wandering takes you all the way to the Tongariro Crossing.
Keep your eyes open though.
You never know who might be lurking in the shadows…
Even Hobbits need a little wander!

V is for Value
What gives a place its value?
Here, perhaps it’s the volcanoes that shaped the landscape, the pounamu that is treasured, and the stories, people and places that make the Central Plateau what it is.
Some things are measured in dollars.
Others are simply valued.

U is for unlikely.
An unlikely name for a B&B ... because the rabbit isn't a rabbit at all!
It's a fishing fly, and being beside the Tongariro River, perhaps that's not unlikely at all.
Sometimes the unlikely makes perfect sense.

T is for Transport.
You can walk the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing yourself … but first, you have to get there!
There are several local shuttle operators who can get you to the start from the secure carpark.
It’s one of the many things we’re happy to help our guests work out.

Know before you go!
