🐝 FOUND THE BEE? WHY NOT JOIN US THIS TUESDAY? 🍽️

As part of Bee in the City Wellington, anyone who finds our sponsored Bee painted by Cecily Guarrera can redeem a FREE dinner and dessert when they join us for a meeting, so why not join us this Tuesday! 🐝

We’re excited to welcome Ophelia Muller and Cath Short from The Wellington City Mission as our guest speakers.

For more than 120 years, the Wellington City Mission has been supporting people and families across the region. From helping individuals facing hardship to supporting children, families and older people, the Mission works alongside people to improve their wellbeing, overcome adversity and build brighter futures.

Ophelia works in the Mission’s fundraising team, looking after Trusts, Grants and Community portfolios - a role that can involve everything from securing funding and speaking to school groups, to supporting local fundraising events.

It’s a great opportunity to hear more about the incredible mahi happening in our community and the difference the City Mission makes every day. ❤️

⚠️ Please RSVP through the Bee in the City App Reward by Saturday midnight so we can confirm numbers for catering.

🏅 Congratulations, Dennis! 🏅

Last week, the Rotary Club of Mount Victoria was proud to award Dennis Small a Paul Harris Fellowship in recognition of his outstanding service, leadership and commitment to Rotary and the wider community.

Dennis exemplifies the spirit of “Service Above Self.” A longstanding Rotarian across several clubs, Dennis has dedicated decades to Rotary, including serving as President of the Courtenay Place Rotary Club.

Always one of the first to put his hand up to help, Dennis brings reliability, good humour and a genuine desire to make a difference. Whether supporting our own club or lending a hand to neighbouring Rotary clubs, he freely gives his time, skills and experience without seeking recognition.

In his current role as Club Secretary and meeting organiser, Dennis remains a steady and dependable presence at the heart of our club. His dedication and willingness to step forward embody the very best of Rotary.

👏 Congratulations on being awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, Dennis — thoroughly deserved! 💙💛

🏅Congratulations, Roger! 🏅

Last week, the Rotary Club of Mount Victoria was proud to award Roger Morrell a Paul Harris Fellowship - recognising his outstanding commitment to Rotary and the wider community.

Roger is a shining example of Rotary’s “Service Above Self” in action. His generosity, dedication and willingness to support others have made him an invaluable member of our club and a respected contributor across our wider community.

Roger gives generously of both his time and financial support, helping our club’s activities succeed and ensuring Rotary can continue making a difference. His commitment extends beyond Rotary too, including meaningful involvement with community organisations such as the Strengthening Democracy Project.

We are also incredibly fortunate to have Roger’s talents as a photographer. 📸 His wonderful photographs have captured the life of our club with creativity, care and an eye for the moments that matter.

The Bee in the City trail is NOW LIVE!

And what better way to get started than by meeting one of Aotearoa’s native bees?

This beautiful sculpture by Taupuruariki (Ariki) Whakataka Brightwell celebrates the ngaro a huruhuru native bee, bringing its distinctive form and colours to life.

As Ariki says, it shines a light on Aotearoa’s native bees, which are often overlooked and increasingly under threat from environmental change, habitat loss and urbanisation.

Bee in the City, presented by Mills-Albert Limited, is raising vital funds for Life Flight, helping provide critical lifesaving care to people across Aotearoa when they need it most.

Download the free map app - find this beauty by Ferg’s Kayaks and start exploring the Bee in the City trail today.

How many bees can you find?

KEI TE TUWHERA te ara Pī ki te Tāone!

Waihoki, hei tīmatanga mā tātou, kāore i tua atu i te tūtaki atu ki tētahi o ngā ngaro a huruhuru o Aotearoa.

He mea whakanui tēnei tārai ātaahua nā Taupuruariki (Ariki) Whakataka Brightwell, i te ngaro a huruhuru. Ko tāna he whakapuaki i te āhuahanga motuhake, me ngā tae motuhake hoki.
