🎀 We're so grateful to have three inspiring women joining us for our Pink Ribbon Lunch on Sunday 8 November, each bringing their own experiences, perspectives and important conversations to the table.

Today, we'd love to introduce you to Nicky Olivier. 💗

Nicky is a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed with triple-positive invasive ductal carcinoma in 2025. Nicky has kindly agreed to share her personal journey with us, in the hope of raising awareness and encouraging others to know their own normal, regularly check their breasts and, importantly, advocate for themselves within our healthcare system.

We're incredibly grateful to Nicky for her openness, courage and willingness to share such a personal experience to help others.

Nicky will be joined by breast cancer survivor Fran Wilde and Wairarapa General Surgeon Dr Clare French for what promises to be a meaningful afternoon of connection, conversation and community.

Every day, people across Aotearoa face the life-changing impact of breast cancer. It’s something that touches so many of us, our families, friends and wider community.

Rosie and the team are bringing our community together at The White Swan to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, helping provide critical healthcare services and support to those who need them most.

Of course, the food and w**e will be beautiful, but this afternoon is about so much more than that. 💗

We'll hear from three inspiring guest panellists: Nicky Olivier and Fran Wilde, both breast cancer survivors sharing their personal journeys, alongside Dr Clare French, a General Surgeon practising here in the Wairarapa, who will bring her professional insight and expertise to the conversation.

Above all, it’s about coming together, showing our support and making a meaningful difference.

A lot goes into creating a new menu. The research, the inspiration, the creativity, the skill, the crafting, the time – our talented culinary team have been hard at work bringing our new Gastro Menu to life.

And with all that time, care and attention going into creating each dish, it's only fair that we put just as much commitment into the very important job of TASTE TESTING! 😋

It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it!

Our Swan crew gathered around the table to sample the new dishes, share their thoughts and give our chefs plenty of feedback before the final touches are made. A little sneak peek behind the scenes, with some very happy taste testers.

Our new Gastro Menu launches late October and we can't wait to share it with you!
