Would you like to learn or develop your skills in life drawing?

Whangārei Art Museum is hosting two tutored life drawing workshops with artist Duncan Pepe Long, winner of the 2026 Adam Portraiture Award.

Working from a live model, participants will be guided through a series of drawing exercises exploring gesture, proportion, form and tone. Whether you're new to life drawing or looking to develop an existing practice, these workshops offer a rare opportunity to learn directly from an award-winning artist in a relaxed small-group setting.

📅 Friday 6 November, 5.30–7.30pm
📅 Saturday 7 November, 5.30–7.30pm
• Whangārei Art Museum, 91 Dent Street, Town Basin
• No life drawing experience is necessary
• $48 per person, all materials included
• Limited places available, bookings essential

🌿 Fresh news: all info about our artists and what they'll be creating for Sculpture in the Gardens 2026/27 is now LIVE on our website!

You won't see their mahi yet – but you will find out a lot more about them and about the inspiration behind their piece for this tenth exhibition.

True to form, they're almost all about te taiao – the environment. We love that. 🥰

Head to this link to meet this year's sculptors and match these faces to names!
