Mornings start on the boardwalk over the water at Nayara Bocas del Toro, on our own island in Panama’s Bocas del Toro archipelago. Afternoons belong to the islands beyond, where the sand runs out into every shade of Caribbean blue.

A hummingbird in every hurry, a sloth in no hurry at all, and the Caribbean just beyond the mangroves.

Hummingbirds in the flowering trees, poison dart frogs on the forest floor, sloths in the mangroves. And that’s only the beginning of the wildlife in Bocas del Toro.

Slow down, look closely, and the archipelago does the rest.
