This hibiscus won't look the same tomorrow. Each bloom lasts only one day, though the plant keeps flowering. Originally native to Asia, it now thrives throughout Panama.

Just steps away, the Lady of the Night Orchid takes the opposite approach, native to Panama's mangroves and blooming only after dark to attract its moth pollinators.

The Strawberry Poison Dart Frog is one of the tiniest creatures on Isla Bastimentos, and one of the most fascinating. Across Bocas del Toro, these little frogs are famous for their incredible variety of colors, with different populations displaying distinct color patterns throughout the archipelago.
