For those of you who have traveled with us, who remembers discovering the coffee orchards of the Santa Teresa River Valley along the Salkantay Trek?

We often hear from travelers that this is one of their favorite unexpected moments of the journey, walking through lush coffee-growing landscapes, meeting the local community, and enjoying a fresh cup of Peruvian coffee before continuing on toward Machu Picchu. One of those simple moments that makes the journey just as memorable as the destination.

PACHAMAMA. On the first of August, communities across the Andes celebrate Pachamama Day, honoring Mother Earth and giving thanks for the abundance, balance, and life she provides.

For centuries, this sacred tradition has marked the beginning of a new agricultural cycle. Families gather to prepare pagos a la tierra, offerings of coca leaves, flowers, grains, sweets, and other symbolic gifts returned to the earth as an expression of gratitude and reciprocity.
