Sammara EcoLodge
El arte shipibo-konibo —conocido principalmente como kené, que significa «diseño», «camino» o «recinto»— es un sistema de patrones geométricos sagrados creado por las mujeres de este pueblo originario de la Amazonía peruana.

✡️Key Features

⚛️• The Kené: This word means “design,” “enclosure,” or “path” in the Shipibo language. These are complex geometric patterns that women learn from one generation to the next.

⚛️• Origin of the visions: Many of the compositions arise from mental inspiration and visions experienced after the ritual consumption of ayahuasca, where the designs are connected to shamanic chants (ikaros) and the primordial anaconda (Ronin).

🔯• Media and materials: It is expressed through textiles, ceramics, wood carvings, beaded jewelry, and body or facial paint.

🔯• Natural dyes: These are made from the bark of local trees (such as genipa ,huaca and yapana) and earth pigments.

🔯• Recognition: It was declared a National Cultural Heritage in Peru.

Los ícaros son cantos mágicos y sagrados que los curanderos usan en la medicina tradicional de la Amazonía peruana.
Son melodías sagradas interpretadas durante rituales de sanación, especialmente en las ceremonias con ayahuasca.

Dimensiones: Poseen tres aspectos fundamentales:

Why travel with Sammara Ayahuasca Center?

Because we are a kind-hearted local family who love what we do: sharing our culture, our sacred medicine, and the knowledge passed down by our ancestors—knowledge that we continue to keep alive.

Our wise teacher is nature; we send our gratitude to the fundamental elements of life:
Earth
Water
Air
Fire

We are also close to indigenous communities, surrounded by islands and rivers. That connection allows us to delve deeper into ayahuasca and better understand who we truly are.

Hello, this is adderli Chota Pezo, One of the descendants of the Huitoto ethnic group
And now I'm managing the “Sammara” project, named after my daughter
Hebrew: Translated as “protected by God” or “under God's rule.”

Who are we ? About us🙏

The Huitotos (also known as Uitotos, Witotos, or by their self-designation, Murui-Muinane, which means “people” or “children of to***co, coca, and sweet cassava”) are an indigenous people native to the Amazon.
Today, they continue to live in the jungle, distributed mainly across Colombia (in the departments of Caquetá, Putumayo, and Amazonas) and Peru (in the department of Loreto), as well as in areas bordering Brazil.

About our Culture and Way of Life

The maloka: This is their traditional, communal dwelling—a sacred space where they gather to talk, make decisions, and pass down knowledge from one generation to the next.

Sacred plants: They use coca (ground into mambe) and to***co (ambil) in rituals to facilitate dialogue, think clearly, and maintain spiritual harmony.

Connection to the Jungle: They are experts in fishing, hunting, and traditional agriculture (the chagra), possessing a deep understanding of nature that teaches them to live in balance with the jungle.
