It’s the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors, relax on the beautiful sandy beaches that the Amazon River creates each year, and experience incredible wildlife. From colorful birds to the famous pink river dolphins, there’s so much to discover and enjoy in the heart of the Amazon.

To everyone who knows Julian and her story, I have some wonderful news 🙌🏻💕

A few months ago, we made the difficult but important decision to transfer her to one of Peru’s leading wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center Rainforest Awareness Rescue Education Center - RAREC. There, she is cared for by experienced veterinarians, biologists, and dedicated wildlife professionals who work tirelessly to help animals in need.

One of the first things the team discovered was that Julian is actually a female, not a male as we had all assumed! She has now been given the name Goyle ❤️.

Goyle needed a safe, professional environment where she could be properly rehabilitated and prepared for her return to the wild. She needed to be away from tourists and excessive human interaction, as she had become increasingly accustomed to people while she was with us. Her recovery required expert care, patience, and a setting designed entirely for her well being.

Today, we’re happy to share that she is doing very well. She now has two companions, Peache and Ginger, and the three of them spend their days playing, eating, and growing together. This little troop of Red Howler Monkeys is receiving the love, care, and rehabilitation they need before one day being released back into their natural habitat, where they belong safe from hunters and others who would do them harm.

This is an inspiring conservation project, and it depends on the support of people who care about protecting wildlife. If you would like to make a donation or contribute in any way, please contact RAREC directly. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps give these animals a second chance and is sincerely appreciated.

Thank you all for your kindness, your continued support, and for being part of Goyle’s journey 🍃

It’s always a good time to relax in the middle of the rainforest 🍃

The Monk Saki Monkey (Pithecia monachus) is a medium-sized primate found in the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin. It is known for its dense, shaggy fur and a striking, monk-like facial appearance. This arboreal species is primarily frugivorous but also feeds on seeds, leaves, and small animals. Monk sakis are elusive and prefer the dense canopy, where they live in small family groups 🌱
