The jungle does not let the light in, it transforms it.

Amidst branches, leaves, and silences, each ray finds its own path. Thus begins another afternoon in Andean Wings Sotupa. 🌿

We live surrounded by slopes, screens, noise, and haste. And sometimes, without realizing it, our minds begin to crave space.

Nature can be that space. A place to slow down, look attentively again, and let what's essential take its rightful place. 🌿

At Andean Wings Sotupa, the Tambopata River, the sounds of the rainforest, and the life that surrounds you mean that disconnecting isn't about doing nothing, but about being present again.

Perhaps that's what you needed. Come and discover it from within. 🌿

🌅 Let the river set the pace.

The water beneath your feet, the Tambopata River ablaze with the last rays of the day, and the surrounding jungle doing what it does best: simply being.

No rush, nothing to chase. Just flow.

Sometimes, you don't need to do anything seemingly extraordinary to feel a special connection. Just look, listen, and let nature do its thing. 🌿

The sound of water, the rustling of leaves, the light filtering through the trees, and the life that emerges when you slow down.

In Puerto Maldonado, the Amazon isn't just the landscape that surrounds you; it's a feeling that stays with you. And perhaps that's the most beautiful thing about being here: for a moment, everything feels simpler again. 💚

Andean Wings Sotupa begins in Puerto Maldonado (Madre de Dios). 🌿

Our journey starts in this Amazonian city, the gateway to one of Peru's most biodiverse regions. From there, we leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and follow the river's course, gradually venturing deeper into the rainforest.

The boat becomes our path, the river our guide, and nature begins to reclaim everything.

Until we arrive at Andean Wings Sotupa, our lodge nestled on the banks of the Tambopata River, in the heart of the Madre de Dios Amazon.

Getting here isn't simply traveling from one place to another; it's becoming one with the rainforest.

Some visit the Amazon seeking a good photograph, while others return with a new understanding of the world. 🌿

Long before tourist maps existed, native communities have lived alongside the rainforest, learning from it, protecting it, and passing that knowledge down from generation to generation. Their history reminds us that this forest is not just a destination; it is a home.

Traveling also means approaching nature with respect, listening to other ways of seeing life, and understanding that nature doesn't belong to us: we belong to it.

Because the best memory of the Amazon isn't always captured on camera. Sometimes it's in the way you choose to see the world when you return home.

That, too, is traveling with purpose. 💚

🌿 Our visitor of the day: the capybara!

Also known as the ronsoco, it's the world's largest rodent and one of the Amazon's most charismatic inhabitants. 🐾

Semi-aquatic and an excellent swimmer, it spends much of its time near rivers, lagoons, and floodplains, where it finds food and shelter. 🌊 Its diet is primarily herbivorous: it feeds on grasses and aquatic plants. 🌱

They are very social animals and usually live in groups. And although they may seem calm, they have an amazing ability: they can stay underwater for several minutes to escape potential predators. 👀💧

In Tambopata, encountering one in its natural habitat is one of those encounters that reminds you that the rainforest always has something unexpected to reveal.

Can you imagine coming across one during your next adventure? 🌿✨

From the vastness of our Andes to the depths of the Amazon, passing through deserts, coastlines, and cities steeped in centuries of history, there's something that continues to surprise us: the diversity of a country that never presents itself in just one way.

We celebrate everything that makes us unique and also the privilege of exploring it, discovering it, and sharing it with those who come from afar to experience it.

Because showing Peru is also a way of loving it. ❤️

Happy July 28th!
