Let us meet the woman behind PiñaLikha. ✨
For Jane Legaspi Mirto, creating has always been part of her life. Give her piña fiber, abaca, fabric, beads, stones, wire, or almost any material, and she will somehow find a way to transform them into something beautiful, meaningful, and uniquely her own.
Her creative journey began more than 30 years ago in Aklan, creating elegant piña wedding gowns that showcased the beauty and craftsmanship of Filipino textiles. Since then, her hands have never really stopped creating. Over the years, she has explored different materials and techniques, producing handcrafted clothing, accessories, and artistic pieces that reflect her passion for Filipino artistry.
At the heart of PiñaLikha is the use of delicate piña fiber, carefully incorporated with other local materials such as abaca, beads, stones, fabrics, wires, and other natural elements. Through her creativity and skill, these materials are woven together, shaped, and transformed into handcrafted works that carry their own stories, textures, and character.
Jane finds inspiration in different colors, shapes, textures, and materials. She allows every piece to develop its own identity, embracing the beauty of handmade craftsmanship where no two creations are exactly alike.
Today, PiñaLikha serves as a space where Jane continues to share her creativity, passion, and deep appreciation for Filipino craftsmanship. Each piece represents not only her artistic vision but also the rich tradition of using local materials in innovative and beautiful ways.
Meet Jane Legaspi Mirto, the gifted hands, creative soul, and inspiring heart behind PiñaLikha.
