The American South is filled with food that comes from a cross between old world dishes and new world ingredients, flavored by cooks from Africa and the Caribbean. Modern day immigrants come from all over the globe. Significant numbers of Asians are well represented, e.g. Vietnamese, Japanese, Filipinos, Chinese, etc.. At Ozark, we present our own take on the classic dishes from diners, soul food
and family potlucks. We stay true to the flavor and feel of the original, but may update the technique or bring in a twist on the ingredients. It is important to be informed by tradition, but not be a slave to it. The rich past is our inspiration but our goal is to constantly improve and move forward. It aims to build a strong culinary background and foundation for all of it’s staff to grow in the culinary profession. The fundamentals of being a good cook are only the beginning of the skills needed to be successful in the restaurant business. Every person at Ozark is tasked to learn new things, do them until they have mastered them, and then teach that skill to someone else. Ozark Diner, Private Table, and our regular schedule of educational programs give a breadth of experience that cannot often be found. Our goal is to find the best people and give them the opportunity to grow and reach their own goals. We want the guests at Ozark to feel comfortable, convivial, and at home. The hearty and ample dishes of the diner, along with the gentle breeze and pine view, combine for a relaxing Baguio experience. The welcoming atmosphere and slower pace make it a great place to sit with your companions and enjoy the food and friendship. The variety of the Private Table and the educational programs will feed the appetite of both belly and brain.
