When you cannot control the outcome
There are things we can prepare for, work hard for, and pray about, but still cannot control.
You can do your best and still not know how things will turn out. You can make the right decisions and still face uncertainty. You can pray faithfully and still have to wait for an answer.
That lack of control can make the heart restless.
We replay possibilities in our minds. We wonder what we could have done differently. We try to prepare for every possible outcome, hoping that somehow we can remove the uncertainty.
But peace does not come from controlling everything.
It comes from knowing that God remains steady even when life does not.
Being steadfast means doing what is yours to do, then trusting God with what is beyond you. It means preparing without being consumed by worry. Praying without demanding that everything happen exactly as you planned.
You may not know the outcome today.
But you can still choose faithfulness today.
Do what you can. Pray about what you cannot. And leave the rest in God’s hands.
Prayer:
Lord, when I cannot control how things will turn out, quiet the worry in my heart.
Give me wisdom to do what I can, courage to face what comes, and faith to trust You with everything beyond my control.
Help me rest in knowing that You remain faithful whatever the outcome may be.
Amen.
