It first opened in September of 1961. Several years, and after an exchange of management and ownership, the property was re-launched and renamed the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao in November of 1999. A 15-20 minute ride from the airport, it is located in the southern part of the Philippines in Davao City by the beach, fronting the Davao Gulf and Samal Island. Covering an eight-hectare ground, it
features 159 exquisitely designed rooms and suites - all with beautiful lanai, overlooking the tranquil beach, magnificent swimming pool, coconut groves and meticulously manicured gardens. The room interior features a uniquely ethnic and native look and feel to give the hotel guests a sensation of constantly being in touch with nature. The hotel currently has five operating food & beverage outlets: (1) Café Uno, a cozy dining place that offers international buffet breakfast and lunch and ala carte dinner; (2) Pizzaiolo, which offers the best pizza in Davao and a variety of freshly baked cakes and pastries; (3) La Parilla, an al fresco outlet that serves all sorts of succulent grilled dishes; (4) Vinta Bar, an intimate and relaxing place to unwind and enjoy some drinks or cocktails; and (5) Pool Aquarius, a pool bar located at the garden area of the hotel where swimming pools and a Jacuzzi is located. We also have five mini gazebos by the beach for small, private parties and a number of convention facilities well-equipped with contemporary conferencing equipment that can cater to anywhere between 15 to 1,500 guests. We have a Clinic, a Spa, a Fitness Center, and our Business Center is the next best thing to have an actual office in the hotel where all business requirements and services are available upon request.
