Born in Maa, Davao in 1919, Bai Halima was the daughter of the Magindanaon Datu Mohammed Ali Bagundang. She and her husband performed the Hajj in the 1950s, making her Kidapawan's first woman Hajji.
Bai Halima had to raise her many children alone when her husband died early, being able to send them to school and, when the troubles of the 1970s came, led them into exile in Davao to flee the Ilaga of Cotabato. Bai Halima also saved the lives of many Muslims fleeing Pikit when she offered her own land in Nuangan as refuge.
Bai Halima died in 2000.
