📢 TRAVEL ADVISORY UPDATE

Sambawan Island, Maripipi, Biliran

The Municipal Tourism Office of Maripipi is pleased to inform the public that the travel advisory has been lifted, and boat trips to and from Sambawan Island will resume starting Wednesday August 12, 2026.

Following the latest assessment of weather and sea conditions, travel operations may now proceed. However, all boat operators and passengers are still advised to exercise caution and strictly follow the guidance of the Philippine Coast Guard and other concerned authorities.

We encourage all guests with existing reservations to coordinate with their respective boat operators or the Municipal Tourism Office regarding their travel schedules.

CONTINUATION OF TRAVEL SUSPENSION

The Municipality of Maripipi, through the Municipal Tourism Office, informs the public that the suspension of all sea travel to and from Sambawan Island shall continue until further notice due to the prevailing effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and unfavorable sea conditions.

This measure is implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all visitors, boat operators, and tourism stakeholders.

The public is advised to await official announcements regarding the resumption of travel.

📢 TRAVEL ADVISORY

Sambawan Island, Maripipi Biliran.

In view of the anticipated effects of TD LUIS and to ensure the safety of all visitors, residents, boat operators, and tourism personnel, all trips to and from Sambawan Island are hereby suspended from August 3, to August 8, 2026.

❌ NO BOAT TRIPS
📅 August 03–08, 2026

All confirmed reservations and travel plans within the suspension period are advised to coordinate with their respective boat operators or the Municipal Tourism Office for rescheduling.

The resumption of trips will depend on weather conditions and the official clearance from the concerned authorities.

We encourage everyone to monitor updates from PAGASA and the Local Government Unit for further announcements. Public safety remains our highest priority.
