They booked for 25 and arrived as 71.
A private resort owner in Batasan Hills, the Philippines in Southeast Asia, has warned fellow operators after a group allegedly arrived with far more guests than its package covered.
According to the owner, the reservation included 25 people, while the client initially estimated that around 30 would attend. On the event day, however, 71 guests reportedly entered the resort—46 more than the package allowed.
When staff requested payment for the additional guests, the client allegedly refused, saying the rates sent before the booking had not been read or explained personally during an earlier visit.
The owner said accommodating a larger group increased the use of the pool, water, electricity, restrooms and other facilities, while also creating more cleaning work. A discount on the extra fees was reportedly offered, but the remaining amount was still not paid.
Only the resort owner’s account has been presented, and the client’s side has not been provided.
