*A little appreciation for the guests who make hosting a wonderful experience.* ☕🤎
One of the things we genuinely appreciate as hosts is welcoming guests who treat our space with the same respect and consideration they would give their own home.
Some leave the unit just as they found it. Others even go the extra mile by tidying up, collecting their trash, or doing a little cleaning before checking out. These small gestures never go unnoticed, and they say a lot about a person’s character, upbringing, and the values they carry, especially when those habits are something we consciously instill in our own families.
Of course, we understand that people come to relax, enjoy their stay, and make memories. We’re not expecting perfectly made beds or spotless countertops when guests leave. A little clutter, disheveled bedding, or the usual signs of a lived-in space are completely understandable. That’s part of hosting, and that’s exactly what our regular cleaning fee accounts for.
However, there’s a distinction between the usual turnover cleaning and cleaning or damages that require additional attention.
Our standard cleaning and maintenance already covers vacuuming, mopping, wiping down surfaces, checking appliances, replenishing essentials, and one load of laundry for the beddings. But extensive stains on walls, mattresses, or linens, whether from food, drinks, or other accidents, often require specialized treatment, additional labor, or even replacement. These are expenses that go beyond the ordinary cost of preparing a unit for the next guest.
This is also why security deposits are in place. Not as an additional source of income, nor something we intend to keep, but as a reasonable safeguard for both the property and the next guests who deserve to arrive at a clean, well-maintained space.
And to those who have always been accountable, even when accidents happen, thank you. We appreciate guests who communicate honestly, acknowledge their mistakes, and take responsibility for the spaces they temporarily call home. That’s the kind of consideration and maturity that makes hosting worthwhile.
A quick reminder: A security deposit is refundable, and we are more than happy to return it in full when everything checks out. We’ll gladly show that through our actual guest transactions because we believe transparency matters just as much as accountability.
At the end of the day, we don’t expect perfection. We simply ask for respect, consideration, and a little accountability.
Because being a good guest isn’t about leaving a perfectly spotless unit. It’s about leaving with the same respect for the space that was extended to you when you arrived.
To all our wonderful guests who make this experience worthwhile, thank you for being part of the Laptop & Latte community. 🤎
