Jellyfish stings can cause pain, redness, swelling, and in severe cases, difficulty breathing or life-threatening reactions. Prompt first aid can help reduce pain and prevent complications.

① 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑
Move to safety to avoid additional stings.

② 𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑
Use seawater to rinse the affected area.
❌ Do NOT use freshwater.

③ 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘
Use tweezers, a gloved hand, or the edge of a card.
❌ Do NOT rub the skin.

④ 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑
Immerse the affected area in hot water
(40–45°C / 104–113°F) for 20–45 minutes.
Hot water may help reduce pain.
⚠️ Avoid direct ice on the skin.

⑤ 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏
Seek urgent medical attention if there is:
• Difficulty breathing
• Chest pain
• Severe swelling or pain
• Dizziness or fainting
• Muscle cramps
• Widespread rash or vomiting

✔️ Stay calm and reassure the person
✔️ Use seawater for rinsing
✔️ Remove visible tentacles carefully
✔️ Use hot water immersion if available
