Long before Pompeo & Lumingโs Inn welcomed travelers to Tagkawayan, this 1942 Lionel magnetic compass was already part of a journey of its own.
In the 1970s, it was used by Mr. Pompeo during his years aboard the fishing trawler M/V San Antonio helping navigate voyages at sea and becoming part of the working life that supported his family.
Today, the compass has found its way home. ๐ก
We preserve it at the Inn not simply as an antique but as a reminder of the people, journeys and experiences that came before us. Along with other family pieces displayed throughout the property, it allows our guests to discover a little of the story behind the place they call home for the night.
And perhaps that is why this compass feels especially meaningful here.
For generations, it helped someone find his way across the sea. Today, it welcomes travelers making journeys of their own. ๐
