Niche Restaurant takes a small number of full buyouts each month for corporate dining. The dining room holds twenty-five, the menu is written for your evening, and there is no service interruption from outside guests because there are none.

Father's Day at Niche means the full dinner menu, plus a handful of specials Chef Carlos writes for the night. Last year the Sunday menu included a filet au poivre, a Caribbean lobster preparation, and a slow-braised short rib finished with a mole he reduces for hours.

The shape of this year's menu is still being written. What stays the same every Father's Day is the structure of the evening. A long unhurried first course. A bottle that gets opened slowly. A dessert that arrives at the same time the chef does.

Sunday at Niche is the quietest service of our week. We open at six. The room fills slowly. By eight o'clock, the lights are low, the kitchen is in rhythm, and the pace is set entirely by the people at the tables.

We hear from a lot of guests that Sunday is their birthday and anniversary night for exactly this reason. The same pattern is going to hold for Father's Day in two weeks. Reservations for June 21 are open and moving.
